Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the United States as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was hired by the CBS station to work as the sports reporter. Then, in 2009 the reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were also frequently requested. Her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. Antonietta had just graduated high school but already knew her plans for what she would accomplish. At the end of the day she was enthralled with the school. The university offered her major. She graduated from school and was attended the University as a media studies major. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director at WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a part. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion in Journalism touched her deeply. She was determined to exceed his expectations and never let him down.
